The Echoes of Africa is an international collective of spirited artists that render highly energetic and captivating performances of traditional and contemporary works within the African diaspora. Primarily a hub for culturally-infused dance performances, this collective also engages live drummers and singers along with percussive instrumentation that all lend to the vibrancy of our unique repertoire. Theis collective has been commissioned by the NYS Dance Force with performances nationally and internationally.

Founded by Trinidadian Artistic Director, Jenise Akilah Anthony, this collective invites audiences into an innovative fusion vocabulary that is African-based with hints of modern dance technical elements. Through each performance opportunity, our mission is to offer a creative taste of universality as we expand perspectives of the world of dance. With a foundational goal of harmony and community, we effervescently share the joy of movement and culture to all our audiences in multi-inclusive performances.
